I had the oppurtunity to take pictures of one of the biggest farms in NYC's Farmers Market. Migliorelli's farm is a family owned business started in 1933. It began through an Italian immigrant named Angelo Migliorelli, who like many immigrants in America, arrived with a dream for his family. Bringing with him Italian broccoli raab seeds, he planted his first harvest in the Hudson Valley. Today, Migliorelli's farm produces Cooking Greens, Salad Greens, Root Vegetables, Legumes, Squashes, Corn, Tomatoes, Garlic, Onions, Melons, Apples, Pears, Peaches, Nectarines, Plums, Apricots etc etc to many locations in the Metro Area, including one of the most popular and exciting markets in NYC - The Farmers Market in Union Square.
Knowing the history of Migliorelli's, I am very proud to be capturing the legend of Mr. Migliorelli through todays harvest. My seed is my art and I hope you enjoy these delicious images!
