Photography Teacher with the S.T.A.R.T Program at Port Chester Middle School. I have succesfully taught the students ways to express themselves through Photography.
July-August 2010
I am very proud to have taken what I have learned through out my
career and personal life and share it in this program. The work the
students have done is truly remarkable, full of positivity and
profundity. The children shared their vision and can now use their
camera in ways that did not exist before to them. Giving them an
opportunity for exploration of self and their world around them.
The top photo shows the students field trip. We went to the
Lomography store and the students did not only learn about film, but
they learned about one of the hippest and up-and-coming hobbies in the
world.
Next is our end of program exhibition. 24 students displaying their
work on a board outside the school grounds. The students hand picked 4
digital photos and 1 film photo for their board. Completing their work
with a title for each photograph. Themes like Nature, Love and
Friendship were repeated, and off the wall ideas like Cow, Uniqueness
and Pictures on Pictures were displayed as well. My foundation is
freedom of expression and so I gave the students full freedom for
their Theme.
